Treatment Philosophy

As per Marma Chikithsa concept, human body has Marma points and KONANILAI– the angles between marma.

Change in Konanilai may happen due to one or more following reasons

  • Accident
  • Hit Injury
  • Fall
  • Wrong Postures while standing, sitting or lying
  • Injury or muscle spasm happens during pulling or pushing some objects

A Marma Injury cause change in Konanilai which in turn leads to ailments or diseases.

Some of the common symptoms of Konanilai changes are

1. Neck Pain

Cervical spondylosis ,IVDP  etc. are  most common causes which leads to neck pain. In neck pain, changes in konanilai  most commonly occurs in Saramudichi related marmas.

The distance between Saramudichi and axillary fold should  be same. Any change in this indicates chances of neck pain.

2. Back Pain

Some of the ailments associated with back pain are IVDP-Intervertebral Disc prolapse,  Lumbarspondylosis, Coccydynia (pain in tail bone) etc. In back pain, konanilai changes occurs in Nanganaporuthu related marmas.

Nangana poruthu of both sides should be equidistance from midline  and both Nangana poruthu should be at the same level. Difference in any of these conditions may lead to above said  ailments.

3. Breathing Difficulty

Chest related Marma injury caused by hit, fall or accident can be diagnosed by accessing the Konanilai  of two marmas – Thummikalam and Thoosimukam.

For a normal person,  Konanlia of both Thoosimukam  with Thummikalam will be same. Hit , Fall or accident may cause change in Konanilai of these marmas.

4. Head Ache

Head related  marma injury  can be accessed through the distance between Thilarthakalam marma and Tragus of ear.

Distance between Thilarthakalam marma and Targus of both sides will be same for a normal person.

A hit, fall or accident may cause marma injury and subsequently changes in above mentioned length.

Changes in Konanilai can be corrected through the following Thokkanam techniques

Patting

Tightening

Holding

Twisting

Tying

Pressing

Pulling

Supinating

Shaking
